President Donald Trump rejected an assessment from AI Czar David Sacks, who said days ago that Israel could launch a tactical strike against Iran if the war doesn't end soon.
Speaking on his All-In podcast, Sacks said "we should probably find the off-ramp," claiming that it is a "good time to declare victory and get out."
He went on to say that the Iranian military has been devastated and an end to the war would be a boon for markets.
Should that not be the case, Sacks warned of escalation that could end up targeting oil infrastructure in the region.
"If you see that type of destruction continue, you could literally render the Gulf almost uninhabitable," Sacks said.
"I mean you're not going to have enough water for 100 million people, and human beings just cannot survive very long without water. So that would be a truly catastrophic scenario, and we're talking about destroying the Gulf states economically and then also from a humanitarian perspective," he added, also claiming that Israel "could just be destroyed or very large parts of it."
Should the country face an existential threat, he said, "a lot of really frightening scenarios about where escalation could lead," including contemplating the use of nuclear weapons.
Trump was asked about the remarks on Monday, but he rejected them flatly. "Israel wouldn't do that. Israel would never do that, and yeah, there's, no, there's a theory. You pounded them to hell and you can just leave now and it'll take 10 years for them to build back not nearly what they have right now. And I guess that's another theory, but we want to have it ended," he told press.
"There's no president that wanted to do it, and yet every president knew. I've spoken to a certain president, who I like, actually, a past president, former president, he said, "I wish I did it. I wish I did," but they didn't do it. I'm doing it," he added.
