Trump Administration Has Arrested Hundreds of Dreamers, Says Over 90% of Them Had Criminal Histories

President Donald Trump told G7 leaders on Wednesday that Iran is "about to surrender," even as its leadership vows to fight on and released a letter attributed to the new supreme leader supporting that path.

Axios detailed that Trump boasted about the results of Operation Epic Fury during the call, which took place on Wednesday. "I got rid of a cancer that was threatening us all," Trump said.

He went on to say that even though Tehran is on the verge of capitulation, there is no clear leader on the ground who can make the decision. "Nobody knows who is the leader, so there is no one that can announce surrender," the outlet added.

However, a recent assessment by U.S. intelligence officials, however, determined that the Iranian regime is not at risk of collapse.

Citing officials with knowledge of the assessments, Reuters noted that several different reports have arrived to the same conclusion. They believe that the regime is not in danger at the moment and forces still "retain control of the Iranian public."

And on Thursday, Iranian state TV released a message attributed to new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei vowing to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and continue attacking U.S. bases in the region. He added that Tehran will seek compensation from the U.S. for the attacks, and if Washington refuses it will destroy assets equivalent to the amount it claims it's owed.

Moreover, he warned that more "fronts" will be opened if the war continues, claiming that the "enemy" has "little experience" fighting in them and "will be severely vulnerable."

"In the recent attack, some military bases were used, and naturally, as we had explicitly warned and without any aggression towards those countries, we only targeted those bases. From now on, we will inevitably continue this action, although we still believe in the necessity of friendship between ourselves and those neighbors," reads a passage of the letter.

As a result, he urged Gulf States to "clarify their stance towards the aggressors of our dear homeland and the killers of our people."

Khamenei's state is unclear, considering he has not been seen or heard since the war began. A report from British outlet The Sun claimed that he is in a coma and lost a leg as a result of U.S. and Israeli strikes.

He is reportedly under the care of Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, the country's Health Minister and Medical Education, also a top trauma surgeon.

The Sun conceded that the report is "impossible to verify under Iran's current internet blackout" but noted that Khamenei is being referred to as a "wounded war veteran" by state TV.
