[Correction] The unlocked iPhone 5 prices displayed in the links below come from Canada's Apple Store website. They are for sale in Canada and NOT in the United States. The unlocked iPhone 5 in the U.S. is yet to be released by Apple.

It has been nearly a month since Apple released its latest iPhone, but if you want it unlocked, it's going to cost you.

Apple is selling its black & slate and white & silver iPhone 5 for as much as $899.

The 16 GB iPhone 5 costs $699, the 32 GB cost $799 and the 64 GB costs $899.

According to Apple's website, customers can expect to wait until mid-November to get their hands on the unlocked iPhone 5. The company is also limiting the unlocked iPhone to two per customer. Apple gives customers, who buy the phone directly from them, 90 days complimentary telephone support.

The Verizon iPhone 5 comes unlocked out of the box and can reportedly work on AT&T's network.

T-Mobile supports the unlocked iPhone, but not on a 3G or 4G connection.

On eBay, if you have about $1,200 to spare, you can get your hands on an unlocked 16 GB iPhone.

The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone, but without a wireless contract commitment. According to Apple, the unlocked iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 will not work with CDMA-based carriers and an unlocked iPhone 5 may not support LTE networks in all other countries.

To use the phone, customers will have to purchase a a nano-SIM card from any supported GSM carrier worldwide. To start using it, insert the card into the slot on your iPhone and turn it on by pressing and holding the On/Off button for a few seconds. Then follow the on-screen instructions to set up your iPhone.
