Hundreds of Venezuelans have initiated a campaign on Twitter in protest of Nicolás Maduro and this time they're getting naked. Using the hashtag #MejorDesnudoQue (#BetterNakedThan), Venezuelans have taken nude photos of themselves and posted them on social media, suggesting they would rather be naked than follow the Venezuelan leader any more. la cual consiste en compartir imágenes sin ropa para protestar contra el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro.

The #MejorDesnudoQue muvement emerged a couple of days ago after a group of hooded men linked to the government disrobed and assaulted a young opposition leader inside the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).Using the hashtags #MejorDesnudoQue and #DesnudosConLaUCV (#NakedWithTheUCV) they have become a trending topic on Twitter and indeed across social media. The photos are a powerful reminder of Venezuelan unhappiness.

Protests in Venezezuela have been ongoing since the 12th of February and while this social media campaign has taken a much more passive, peaceful approach, protests in the capital of Caracas have taken a much more violent tone: at least 39 people have been left dead and dozens have been injured in clashes between police and opposition protesters. Nicolás Maduro has met with members of the opposition today to negotiate peace talks.
