Vin Diesel has reportedly decided to quit the “Fast And Furious” franchise following a recent on-set accident that left his stunt double in a coma. A source revealed that the incident had caused Diesel to go “right back to the very dark place he was” when his “Fast And Furious” co-star Paul Walker died in 2013.

The incident in question happened on July 22, when Warner Brothers Hertfordshire’s UK studio temporarily shut down production after the filming of a stunt for “Fast & Furious 9” went horribly wrong. During the filming, Diesel’s stunt double, Joe Watts, accidentally fell more than 30 feet to the ground after the safety wire that was supposed to catch him failed to deploy.

A source from the production revealed that Watts was to leap off a balcony 30 feet up in the sky when the wire malfunctioned. “He was meant to be left dangling below the balcony via the wire and then lowered slowly to the ground, but he plunged to the ground and landed on his head,” the source said.

The incident left the cast and crew of the movie shocked, especially Diesel, in whose place Watts did the stunt. The suspicious source of the publication allegedly said that the incident made Diesel see the “Fast And Furious” production as cursed. “He wants to shut down the whole thing down before something terrible happens to anyone else,” the alleged source said.

According to the source, Diesel has decided to walk away from the production for good, but everyone’s hoping that he could come back to grips with the tragic event and get back to work. The actor allegedly wouldn’t like to be involved in the upcoming film because of the emotional impact that the on-set tragedy had caused him.

While Diesel indeed felt bad about what happened, Gossip Cop says it’s not true that he’s quitting the “Fast And Furious” franchise. Although the production on “Fast & Furious 9” was temporarily halted after the accident, filming for the upcoming film resumed the following day, and Diesel was there.

The actor is currently busy filming his remaining scenes in the film. He will immediately begin shooting “Fast & Furious 10” as soon as shooting wraps on the sequel.
