Viewers are still reeling from the shocking losses in Episode 15 of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 titled “The Calm Before.” It seems that the worst part is over and that all the deaths that this season could claim have already happened in this episode, but the season ender is still going to be a big one.

For the first time in the show's history, winter is coming. The promo for the finale of Season 9 of “The Walking Dead,” titled “The Storm,” shows that the Kingdom has fallen. Ezekiel and Carol are forced to abandon their home, joining Michonne and Daryl in braving a nasty blizzard.

The king and queen can't seem to catch a break. Not only did the fair fail to rebuild the Kingdom as they hoped, but it also became a reminder of what they lost. However, the two are processing it differently.

In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode, Carol puts the blame on Lydia for what happened to Henry. But Daryl defends the girl. Meanwhile, in the promo, the heartbroken mother is seen threatening her with a sharp metal rod to the throat. General speculations posit that Carol is not going to hurt Lydia, even though it is highly likely that her thought process is an eye for an eye at this point.

If anything, Henry's death appears to have awakened “Savage Carol.” It's not like she has been gone for a long time, so it is definitely possible that she taps into her deadly side again fairly easily this time. Fans will remember how she burned those rogue Saviors alive while they were asleep all because they hit Henry and took their stuff. It's easy to imagine her slipping into that mode again, if not something deadlier, now that her son is taken away from her in such a brutal way.

In the promo for the 16th episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 9, Ezekiel warns Carol that crossing the borders marked by the pikes would mean waging war against the Whisperers. But her response indicates that she is not one to succumb to such threats. “We didn't agree to those borders,” she retorted. From there, it is hinted that the two are going to go about this latest tragedy in different ways.

Some people say that it's because of their contrasting approach to the matter that their relationship will start to crumble. The promo definitely showed signs of that. On the way to their destination, Carol is nowhere near Ezekiel. The two are expected to be mourning together, but instead, the queen is walking alongside Daryl. As a result, the death of Henry might also mark the “death” of their relationship.

“The Walking Dead” Season 9, Episode 16, “The Storm,” will air on March 31 on AMC.
