The White House has responded to the release of new emails connecting Jeffrey Epstein to Donald Trump, sparking an intense wave of reaction across social media platforms as digital audiences digested the new evidence linking the president with the deceased sex trafficker.

"The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump," said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a press conference on Wednesday.

"The 'unnamed victim' referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and 'couldn't have been friendlier' to her in their limited interactions.

"The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre," Levitt added. "These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump's historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again."

The Epstein emails

The documents, made public by Democrats in the United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, includes a pair of emails suggesting Donald Trump was aware of or complicit in Epstein's trafficking network, claims his team disputes.

In one of the newly released messages from 2011, Epstein wrote to his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell: "i want you to realize that that dog hasn't barked is Trump ... [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned." Another email from 2019 shows Epstein telling author Michael Wolff that, "of course he [Trump] knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop."

Intense reactions

Within hours, the hashtag #EpsteinEmails began trending on X (formerly Twitter), with users on the left calling the revelations "explosive" and arguing they bolster demands for full transparency of Epstein-era records. On the right, many posts cast the emails as politically motivated, echoing the administration's statement that the release is a "smear operation."

Another message from Epstein to a "Kathy Ruemmler" states, "you see , i know how dirty donald is. my guess is that non lawyers ny biz people have no idea. what it means to have your fixer flip[.]"

Many are reacting with disgust and horror to what is already a substantial body of evidence indicating a close relationship between the two. Writer and political commentator Ed Krassenstein wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "WOW! Trump is guilty! He's sick!"

Democratic political commentator Joanne Carducci wrote on X, "Prince Andrew is no longer a prince because of his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. Tick fucking tock, orange man."

However, some of Trump's most ardent supporters remain unconvinced of the nature of Trump's and Epstein relationship.

"As a survivor I find it deeply offensive that DEMOCRATS would use Epstein victims to bury headlines about the vote to reopen the government today. Today of all days. WTH is wrong with you people. You just keep reminding women and survivors you don't support us", said Republican representative Nancy Mace.

In a reply to the Democrats on the Oversight Committee's post on X, @Khryn_Tzu wrote, "You cannot look at these with a straight face and tell me they are real. These look like an edgy teen wrote them. "Victim"? Nothing screams "not guilty" like referring to someone you are using as "victim." This is terrible Democrat fanfic, and it is embarrassing that y'all would try this trash."

@Sierra321776585 on X also replied to the post, writing, "None of that is damning against Trump. It even says he asked Maxwell to stop. If he did know about Jeffrey's girls, that doesn't mean he approved. And it doesn't mean he didn't tell the authorities. All you people giddy about having something against Trump are going to be disappointed."
