Fans of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” woke up to a shocking news Friday morning: someone has finally scored the role of John Ambrose in the sequel — and he’s not the John Ambrose you’ve met in “P.S. I Love You,” the book that followed the first installment on which the first Netflix film was based.

On Friday, Netflix confirmed that Jordan Fisher, the Hot Mark on “Rent: Live,” is playing the third party in the highly anticipated “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” sequel. Before we watch him go up against Noah Centineo in the upcoming film, here are interesting facts about him you should know.

1. He has a few acting credits

Before he scored a role in “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2,” he previously appeared in Disney Channel classics like “Teen Beach Movie” and “Liv And Maddie.” He’s also the winner in the 25th season of “Dancing With The Stars.” His other TV credits include “iCarly,” “The Secret Life Of The American Teenager” and “Teen Wolf.”

2. He learned gymnastics at age two

At 2, Fisher already had knowledge in gymnastics. At some point in his life, however, he had to stop dancing so he could focus on his blossoming career. In a 2017 interview, the young actor recalled the days he spent training as a gymnast and revealed it was his dream as a child to reach the Olympics.

3. He started early in musical theater

After being cast in a school production of “School House Rock, Jr.” at Grade 5, Fisher realized he wanted to pursue musical theater. As he started to carve out his niche in Hollywood, he successfully scored collaborations with Lin-Manuel Miranda, performing a duet with him on “You’re Welcome” for Disney’s “Moana.” He was also part of Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical “Hamilton.”

4. He’s an instrumentalist

As Fisher’s acting career continued to flourish, he made it a point to have time for his music career — his first love. He does not only have amazing vocals, but he also knows how to play six instruments: the piano, guitar, bass, French horn, harmonica and drums. In 2014, he recorded three songs for Radio Disney, and the following year, he landed a recording contract with Hollywood records.

5. He’s adopted

Fisher’s mom had him when she was only 16, so Fisher’s maternal grandparents, Rodney and Pat, adopted and raised him and his siblings, Cory and Trinity. His biological mom wasn’t able to forge a good relationship with him because of substance abuse.
