Why Meghan Markle Still Hasn’t Spoken To Her Dad If They Were Close

Meghan Markle had a falling out with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., even before she wed Prince Harry. Until today, the father and daughter duo have not spoken to each other.

The Duchess of Sussex actually grew up with her dad because her mom, Doria Ragland, was busy with her work. But this doesn’t mean that Meghan never got to spend time with Ragland. The two have also always been close, and their relationship has stayed as such until today.

When Meghan was still working as an actress, she would oftentimes talk about her dad and share some of the things she has learned from her. And even before she wed Prince Harry, Meghan even penned a touching Father’s Day greeting for Thomas.

According to the US copyright office, Meghan may have also copyrighted a phrase that she got from her dad. “A face without freckles is a night without stars,” Thomas used to tell his daughter.

The Duchess of Sussex has freckles on her face, and she previously revealed how upset she got whenever photographs would airbrush them out of her photos. While speaking with Allure magazine, Prince Harry’s wife said that this is her pet peeve.

But even though some of Thomas’ words are still etched in Meghan’s heart, the two still haven’t patched things up until today. Before the royal wedding, Thomas posed for a series of fake photographs that were encouraged by his other daughter, Samantha Markle.

The former lighting director also gave shocking interviews to the press where he criticized Meghan, Prince Harry and the royal family. But just weeks before his grandson, Archie, was born, royal experts noticed that Thomas has stayed out of the limelight.

They are convinced that Thomas has not been giving interviews to the press because he wants to get on Meghan’s good side. This way he could finally get to meet his grandson. Unfortunately, no report has been released yet regarding Meghan and Thomas’ relationship.

Next month, Archie will be christened at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Royal fans are looking forward to knowing if Thomas will also be there.
