Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage may have ended on a low note, but a close friend of Princess Diana has revealed that the Princess of Wales loved her ex-husband until her dying day. In fact, she would have wanted to remarry Prince Charles had she not died.

Princess Diana reportedly was not really able to get over Prince Charles despite how he had cheated on her. She discovered Prince Charles’ cheating early on in their marriage, but she chose to stick with him for years because she loved him dearly. They had been married for 15 long years before Princess Diana decided to leave and go on with the divorce process, which was finalized in 1996.

According to a friend of Princess Diana, she would have liked to redo their marriage had she lived longer. “I think she loved Charles until her dying day,” Debbie Frank Astrologer revealed. “I’m not saying she longed for him. She didn’t. I think she’d managed to get some distance. But there was still that wound, like there was with her mother,” she added.

Astrologer said Princess Diana’s lingering desire to remarry Prince Charles was allegedly because of how her ex-husband triggered some sort of a feeling of abandonment in her. “And it was probably more about the mother than Charles actually,” she said. “When he triggered that feeling of abandonment in her, she became like a five-year-old again,” she added.

Another friend of Princess Diana, Petronella Wyatt, revealed that Princess Diana was able to establish a newfound friendship with Prince Charles after their separation. During one dinner at the Ritz, a jolly Princess Diana reportedly talked about her boys and her newfound friendship with the Prince of Wales. “That made her very happy,” Wyatt said. “Kerry Packer asked her what she would do if she could live her life over again and she said, laughingly, ‘Redo my marriage,’” she added.

According to Wyatt, she and Princess Diana’s other friends never thought that she was really in love with Dodi Fayed, the man she was being linked to at the time of her death. “But I always thought, and so did friends of both her and Charles, that she remained a little in love with him,” she said.

Jenni Rivett, Princess Diana’s personal trainer, supported Wyatt’s claim and said that Princess Diana had never lost her love for the Prince of Wales. All she really wanted was to remain as Prince Charles’ wife, the mother of her children and the People’s Princess.
