Rumors of remarriage involving Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson continue to buzz, but the reunion will reportedly not happen with Prince Philip still breathing. Prince Philip has long loathed Fergie, and he will not allow his son to remarry her for as long as he lives.

Although Prince Andrew and Fergie have remained on good terms since their divorce, Prince Philip has never forgiven his former daughter-in-law for the damage she had caused to the reputation of the royal family. Prince Andrew and Fergie’s marriage failed due to Fergie’s well-publicized extramarital affairs and her shameless efforts to allegedly cash in on her royal connections. Because of what Fergie did, Prince Philip couldn’t help but think that Fergie only married his son in her desperate pursuit of their riches.

In 2015, Prince Andrew brought Fergie to the Royal Ascot of Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Philip was everything but happy to see Fergie. According to reports, he could not quite believe that Fergie had the audacity to insist on being called a “Duchess” after all that she had done to ruin the dignity of their family in the 1900s. He also cannot stand the odd living arrangements of Prince Andrew and Fergie, considering that they have been divorced for more than two decades now.

Although Prince Andrew and Fergie have been close since their divorce, living together at the Royal Lodge, making joint purchases and living like a married couple, Prince Philip cannot disguise the deep grudge he holds against the Duchess of York. That alone makes it hard to imagine a royal wedding between Prince Andrew and Fergie with Prince Philip among the guests.

Interestingly, Fergie loathes Prince Philip just as much. She tells anyone who asks about Prince Philip how tyrannical a duke he is. “She always likes to say how he ‘rules the royal family with a rod of iron,’” a source said. “They loathe each other, to put it frankly,” the source added.

With Prince Andrew and Fergie still living together, making joint appearances together and sharing photos of each other on their respective Instagram accounts, people can’t help but think that a reunion is on the way. However, Fergie will still need to mend her royal feud with her “handsome prince’s” father before she can ever make an absolute return to the royal fold.
