Chiquis Rivera is one of the confirmed performers during Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro 2015. The daughter of the late singer Jenni Rivera is also nominated up against her mother in the category of Regional Mexican Female Artist of The Year. Who will win is still up in the air and we will find out who takes the accolade tonight. What really has us intrigued is Rivera's performance during the show. As Chiquis finds her voice and position in entertainment out of her mother's shadow she has given us very different performances, some good and some really bad. Last year, during Premios Juventud 2015, Rivera completely transformed into her mother in a horrible presentation. Of course, she can't do anything about the obvious physical similarities she has with Jenni, but she can change her style and try to come into her own. That number was a disaster and was not well-received.

Late last year she launched a new single called "La Malquerida," which she performed on a local award show. First, the song was a step-up from what she had been offering us. This showed more maturity and was sort of a nod to the feud she had with her mother before her passing. Her performance was more original and we finally saw Chiquis Rivera, be Chiquis Rivera and not Jenni Rivera. She was finally coming into her own and offering us something different as an artist. Chiquis also released a track in English titled "I'm Not That Girl," which became our guilty pleasure. The song was actually a great composition and showed an effort to grow as an artist and offer the audience something new. We've seen the good and the bad, with a trend toward a more positive and well-rounded performer. What will happened tonight during Premio Lo Nuestro 2015?
