An investigation has been launched after a woman in Mumbai, India filed a case against a prominent businessman. The woman claims that the man invited her to a hotel where he drugged her. She accused him of raping her leaving her with injuries.
The 30-year-old victim, who has not been named due to legal reasons, had met the 40-year-old businessman on Tinder. The two had been talking for months since they matched on the dating app. On the occasion of the woman’s birthday, the man offered to throw her a party.
He invited the woman to a luxury hotel on Monday, July 26. The man had booked a suite to celebrate the occasion. The woman arrived at the suite at around 7:00 p.m. local time. She was offered a drink by the man. It is unclear if any other people were present in the suite at the time.
After drinking the spiked drink, the woman became drowsy, the Hindustan Times reported. The woman regained her senses and returned home after sobering up. When she reached her home, she started feeling unwell. The woman told her family what had transpired. She was taken to hospital where she remains recovering from the ordeal.
The woman filed a complaint against the man identified by The Times of India as Avin Agarwal, director of Haldiram Savories And Sweets Private Limited. The police have not confirmed the identity of the accused. The accused had been booked under sections 328 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code for causing hurt by means of poison and rape. No arrests have been made so far as the investigation continues.
While the victim from Mumbai has to await legal proceedings, two Australian teenagers took justice into their own hands after being drugged and sexually assaulted.
The two unnamed teens from Mildura, Australia had come in contact with 34-year-old Brenton George Healey through Snapchat. The man tried to groom the 15 and 17-year-old girls by supplying them with drugs. He wanted sexual favors from the girls in exchange for the drugs.
He refused to drive the 17-year-old girl home unless she performed sexual acts on him. Despite her objection, the pedophile forced the older teen to sexually gratify him. On another occasion, he drugged the younger teen with high doses of pain medication. Taking advantage of the weakened teen, he forced himself on her in his car.
The 15-year-old reported the abuse to her parents, school and police. Before the police arrested the man, the teenagers barged into his home. Armed with a baseball and a cricket bat, the girls beat the pedophile till he begged them to stop.
Arresting the accused, the police let the teens off on a warning for the assault.
