A woman was charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed her younger sister to death for flirting with her boyfriend in Orange County, Florida.

Officers in Orange County were called to a home in the 500 block of Southern Charm Drive in the Azalea Park neighborhood at around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 26. When the officers responded to the scene, they found a woman, identified as 20-year-old Sayma Marzan, stabbed to death inside the residence. Following this, the victim's elder sister Fatiha Marzan, 21, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing, the Independent reported.

Following her arrest, Fatiha told investigators that she was angry with her sister because her sister had been flirting with and making advances toward her long-distance boyfriend whom she had been with for the past five years.

Investigators found out that Marzan had been communicating with her sister's boyfriend via the messaging feature of a video game called Valorant. Fatiha also reportedly found out that her boyfriend had told her sister that he loved her.

Following this, Fatiha plotted a plan to murder her sister. She told the investigators that two weeks before the murder, she purchased a dagger-style set of knives from Amazon, stored them in her bedroom, and planned to murder her sister with them, WESH 2 News reported.

Fatiha did not want anyone to hear the killing and waited for her family members who stayed up late praying to fall asleep. After her family members fell asleep, at around 4:30 a.m., she began stabbing her sister, who was lying in the bed with her.

She reportedly confessed to the officers that she stabbed her sister three to four times in the heart.

"[She] said she killed her sister because she could no longer deal with the relationship Sayma had with her boyfriend," the report states.

Following the stabbing, Fatiha phoned 911 at about 7.30 p.m and told the officers that she had stabbed her sister in the early hours of that morning and that she “does not believe she was alive”.

After stabbing her sister to death, Fatiha thought about killing herself. However, Fatiha told investigators that a sibling talked her out of it.

Fatiha pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bond in an Orange County Jail.
