Starr Lamare, 25, was set on fire by her boyfriend after the couple argued about where to launder clothes. Her condition is deemed critical.

In an interview to KGO Bay Area News her sister, Precious Craig, said that "Most of her face is burnt. Just a little bit of hair is still there, but most of her face is burned."

Authorities are on the hunt for Lamare's boyfriend, Dexter Oliver, 22, wanted for attempted murder.

According to the victim's relatives, after arguing in the laundromat, Oliver became infuriated and went home to get gasoline to set the woman's face on fire.

What was the reason for such a despicable act? According to Craig, Lamare was going to leave her clothes at the Laundromat, as she always does, but Oliver opposed the idea, dropped everything and ran home to get the fuel.

"My sister wanted to leave her clothes at the laundromat so they could get washed but he didn't want to leave them there, she said she does it all the time, but he got mad and threw the clothes down," Craig told KGO, an ABC affiliate.

Some witnesses at the scene saw the victim on fire and called 911 immediately.

"She took off her shirt and she dropped it off there, and then she was running because she got burnt because of the shirt," said one of the witnesses to reporters. "And then the guy, I guess that had burnt her, took her purse and then ran that way."

"She was basically like running and she was just screaming, yeah because that's what I heard, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, she's screaming, let's go get her,'" another witness said.

The New York Daily News reported that Oliver was last seen wearing a red and white hooded jacket.

Another woman was set on fire in an elevator over a debt in 2011.

Back then, police said a woman died after being set on fire in her Prospect Heights apartment building's elevator. Images of her killer were captured on video.

The Post reported that surveillance video shows "the suspect was waiting on the fifth floor and ambushed his victim as the elevator doors opened. He sprayed the woman with a flammable liquid and then set her aflame and ran off, leaving her to die in agony, police said," while a resident said "She was screaming at the top of her lungs."
