Back in Dec. 28, 2013, Yasiel Puig, Dodgers outfielder, was arrested and accused of driving 110 mph on the "Alligator Alley" section of I-75 in Florida. He was charged with reckless driving, and the arrest was his second of the year. Just recently, the video of his encounter with the police surfaced online showing the 23-year-old Cuban baseball star being pulled over and lectured by an official. After he was pulled over, Puig, who lives in the Miami area during the offseason, told the trooper he wasn’t speeding for most of his drive. The officer was unsympathetic, especially when he found out Puig’s mother was one of the passengers.

"This is your mom? Oh, you're going to jail. You are putting your mom in danger, oh hell no," the trooper said in Spanish to Puig. "Why were you driving that fast? You don't care about anyone's life in the car?" Puig replied: "Yes, I do care. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." However, the officer wasn’t buying it. "The reason why we are in this situation is because he didn't care about his mother's life or your lives, and he's going to jail," he said in Spanish.

After the trooper explained to the other passengers how to proceed after Yasiel’s arrest, his mother broke down and started sobbing uncontrollably. Meanwhile, Puig was in the backseat of the patrol talking to himself and questioning why he was going so fast and constantly repeating that he needs to learn, that this was the second time and that he wasn’t going to be allowed to drive anymore. When the officer went back to the patrol, Puig tried to bargain with him saying he would do anything “but please don’t take me to jail” because he didn’t want the incident going to the press and creating a major scandal for him and his team.

Back in April, 2013, Puig was clocked going 97 in a 50 mph zone in Tennessee, but those charges were later dismissed. Yasiel Puig signed a $42 million, seven-year contract in June 2012, with a $12 million signing bonus. He made $2 million last season. Scroll down to watch the full video of his arrest, from the moment the officer approached his white Mercedes Benz, to the moment the trooper drove off with the baseball player to take him to jail.
