Zach Sobiech of Minnesota was 14 when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. After a four-year battle with the often fatal disease, Sobiech died Monday at his home at age 18.

When Zach Sobiech learned from his physicians that he only had a short time to live, he began to write songs to say goodbye to his family and friends. An amateur guitarist, Sobiech soon penned the song "Clouds" which later became a viral YouTube sensation.

Sobiech and his band, A Firm Handshake, released the album "Fix Me Up" which is currently ranked seventh in the United States' iTunes charts. "Clouds" is reportedly hovering around number four, following the news of his death. The song is also reportedly climbing the charts across the pond in the United Kingdom as well.

"Clouds" touched so many people that a number of celebrities released a video together showing them lip-synching the guitar tune. Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad" and "Malcolm In The Middle" joined Disney Channel's Ashley Tisdale, musician Jason Mraz, as well as Jason Derulo and Rachel Bilson to appear in the tribute video.

A foundation set up in his honor, the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund, reportedly received as much as $214,000 in donations following his death.

In a statement, Zach Sobiech's family said, "We'd like to thank those people who listened with their hearts and helped Zach bring his message and his music to the world."

The CEO of the Childrens Cancer Research Fund, John Hallberg, said that Sobiech once told him "you don't have to find out you're dying to start living."
