A 14-year-old boy allegedly repeatedly raped his 7-year-old sister before proceeding to strangle her to death as he was scared of getting caught by relatives in Pakistan, according to police officials.

A missing complaint was reportedly lodged at the Bada Ghar Police Station by Abdul Ghafoor, the victim's father, a laborer in Chak No 3/53, alerting that his 7-year-old daughter had gone missing from their house, Times Now reported.

Bachiki Police Post In-Charge Anjum Rizwan Cheema was subsequently instructed by the authorities to investigate the girl's sudden disappearance.

Cheema and his team reportedly launched a search operation and later found the missing girl's body in a field near her home village the next day. An initial investigation into the incident revealed that the victim had been raped before she was strangled to death.

As soon as the incident was reported, District Probation Officer (DPO) Kiani, Bada Ghar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Circle Mian Khalid Mehmood, Station House Officer(SHO) Muhammad Botha Dogar, and Bachiki In-Charge were summoned to the spot to inspect and collect evidence.

As part of the investigation, the police reportedly searched more than 150 suspects from Chak No 3/53 and nearby villages, collecting their DNA samples. When the samples were sent to a Lahore laboratory for DNA testing, the DNA sample of 14-year-old Saqlain, the victim's brother, reportedly matched with the sample obtained from the girl's corpse, indicating his involvement in the murder, according to the Tribune.

Once Saqlain was interrogated by the investigators, he reportedly confessed to strangling his 7-year-old sister to death after sexually assaulting her for several months. Saqlain admitted that he choked her dead, fearing that he would get caught by his relatives. Saqlain also allegedly confessed that he had sexually assaulted animals, the police said.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a 15-year-old girl was reportedly repeatedly raped by her elder brother after she moved in with him following the death of their parents, Latin Times reported.

The girl from Makarba in Ahmedabad, India, filed a rape complaint against her 26-year-old brother on June 16.

In her complaint, the girl stated that she began living with her elder brother and sister-in-law in their rented house in Makarba following her parents' death.

"On the night of Jan. 29, 2019, when I was sleeping in my room, my brother barged in and forced himself upon me, and threatened to kill me if I screamed. After raping me, he again threatened to kill me if I spoke about the incident to his wife or anyone else," she stated in the complaint.

She alleged that her brother continued to rape her whenever he found her alone or when his wife was sleeping.

The victim told her sister-in-law’s mother about the recurring assault after she was taken to a hospital for a check-up since she was not getting her period for three months now.

The accused brother, who works as a daily wage laborer, has been arrested and charged with rape and for offenses under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
