The superstar of Detroit's 2013 North American International Auto Show, the 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe stunned auto journos and Detroiters alike.
Despite the extensive coverage and the innumerable photo galleries, there's still a striking amount of detail that's been overlooked. Earlier this week, panoramic photography agency "360Revo" shared its exclusive, interactive 2014 Corvette Stingray Panorama explorer.
Thanks to the new panoramic functions, we were able to study never-before-seen C7 components including the targa roof hinge right behind the seats.
A rather long unveiling schedule, GM first revealed the new Corvette "LT1" engine back in October, boasting a 6.2 liter small-block V8 putting out 450-hp and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. According to GM, 99.9 percent of the LT1 engine is new, replaced with new and lighter materials that provide more immediate response and even better fuel efficiency. GM claims the new LT1 will be one of the lightest and most efficient V8 engines on the market.
Riding on a super-strong aluminum frame, the C7 weighs 99 pounds less than the outoing C6 yet also claims to have 57 percent more rigidity.
