An FIR has been filed in Mumbai, India in connection with a complaint of rape and molestation. In this case, police have booked nine high-profile people including Bollywood actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani.

A model alleged that Bhagnani molested her in Bandra, reported News Track. Bollywood photographer Colston Julian, founder of talent management company Kwan Entertainment Anirban Blah and Krishan Kumar of T-series are also among the accused mentioned in the FIR. The model said that Julian raped her between 2014 and 2018 in the name of giving her a break in modeling.

“Police have registered an FIR after so many days of submitting my complaint letter against the high-profile people, but none of them have been arrested yet,” the woman told Mid-Day.

On May 10, the woman had approached Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 10, Dr Maheshwar Reddy, who told an officer at Andheri police station to record her statement. It took over a week to record the statement. The matter was sent to Zone 9 DCP office in Bandra, as most incidents of alleged sexual abuse on her had happened in its jurisdiction during 2012 to 2019.

A detailed statement of the victim was later recorded by the investigating officer. “Why are the police further delaying the arrest of the accused? I have submitted all the pieces of evidence that I have against these accused,” the woman said.

On May 26, the FIR was registered.

Inspector Sagar Nikam said: “We have registered the FIR based on her complaint. We are in the process of collecting the pieces of evidence that the survivor claims to possess against them. Our investigations are underway.”

The victim also said that one woman police officer took her to the locations where the accused men sexually abused her. "It seems that Colston Julian has gone underground as his Bandra house was locked and his car was also not there when we visited. Bhagnani is somewhere in foreign land and he is expected to reach Mumbai in September," said the woman.

Bhagnani was recently in news for supporting an initiative related to the pandemic.

"Was delighted to learn about this initiative which is the country’s first information repository on beds. You can find your nearest COVID centre & help build one! Glad to do my bit as a Cause Ambassador for an initiative that is by the youth!" he tweeted earlier this month.
