Adamari Lopez is unstoppable. Not only is she one of the most important and prominent actresses worldwide, but she's overcome major health issues, becoming an example of determination and courage. Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, she began her career at the age of 8. As a teenager she decided to focus on her studies, only to come back stronger than ever starring in telenovelas and movies including, "Sin ti," "Camila," "Locura de Amor," "Amigas y Rivales," "Gata Salvaje," "Mujer de Madera," "Linda Sara," "Héroes de Otra Patria" and "Paradise Lost," only to name a few.

On March 25, 2005 in a press conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Adamari announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, it was an early "Stage 1" diagnosis of breast cancer that allowed her to get the necessary treatment on time and beat the disease. After her long battle, she decided to take some time away from the screen and focus her efforts into helping other women prevent and detect breast cancer and she's become a spokesperson for Yoplait with their campaign "Tapas por la Vida."

After fully recovering, Adamari participated in a series of performances of "The Vagina Monologues," and in 2011 she won first place in the television show "Mira Quien Baila," which is the Hispanic version of "Dancing With The Stars," proving that her talents go beyond her acting. She is currently co-hosting Telemundo's "Un Nuevo Día" morning show. Not only has she made a great comeback to the screens, Adamari has opened up to the world in her book "Viviendo," which was published last year to great sales and reviews, and now, her story is translated to English, under the name of "Thriving," to appeal to a broader audience.

"Having the opportunity to write a book, tell my story as a survivor, my experiences as a woman and my family life, has filled me with great satisfaction," said López. "Not only because I can help many women with my story, to overcome or guide them if faced with a diagnosis of cancer, but because I recognized and overcame adversities that needed to be left behind." The actress went on, opening up about the person who's always been by her side and who's inspired her to continue sharing her story with more people. "It has been 10 months since "Viviendo" was released and 11 since my mom could not beat her cancer. My mom certainly influenced and is still influencing everything I do, so I had to include a bit more of the special relationship that my mom and I had in this version."

Adamari continued to praise her mother, "The admiration and deep love I feel for my mom makes this edition an even more special one. I know she will be sending me her blessings from Heaven for every step I take. I will love you always and I know you will continue to be proud of me." She closes her statement with a note to her fans, "Remember that no matter how much I need to cry or all the obstacles I need to overcome, I will always smile," said Adamari. "Thriving" comes out Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 and will be available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
