You can start referring to Alejandro Sanz as Mr. Superhero from now on. The 47-year-old singer earned his new title after saving a woman from being attacked by a male audience member during a concert in Rosarito, Mexico last weekend. According to reports, Sanz noticed the happenings in the front row during his performance of “La Música No Se Toca,” he then proceeded to give signals to the security entourage so they could tackle the situation.

With the band still playing, Sanz decided to approach the individuals and personally addressed the man while the rest of the attendees watched with admiration. “You do not do that,” he said to the man minutes before he was removed from the venue by the security guards. He then returned back to the stage and repeated the exact same words on the microphone before resuming his set.

When the song was over, the former “La Banda” judge stopped his show for a few minutes to explain the situation, “I want to apologize for what just happened, but I just can’t stand anyone touching anyone, let alone a woman. You don’t hit women.”

Many of Alejandro’s fans and friends have taken to social media to comment on the singer’s heroic episode, including fellow Spaniard Antonio Banderas who wrote, “Very proud of you Alejandro Sanz. No more violence against women.”

Orgulloso de ti Alejandro. No a la violencia de genero. Very proud of you Alejandro Sanz. No more violence against women.
