Authorities in Argentina have arrested a 19-year-old hacker who allegedly stole $50,000 a month from online gambling pages. Also known as the "super hacker" the 19-year-old was reportedly working for months from his bedroom in Buenos Aires. Police had been working for over a year to catch the hacker. When the arrest went down, authorities were forced to shut down the power to the entire neighborhood in an effort to make sure the hacker could not destroy or delete information that would be vital to their case.

The hacker, who has not been named, is said to be the son of an information systems engineer. The hacker was first detained in his home in July as part of a raid on several hackers known as "Operation Zombie." Another six individuals have been identified as part of the hacking operation. Police began investigating the hacking allegations when a businessman brought the hacker to the attention of police. The businessman offered his services as the host for personal web pages. The Telegraph reports the businessman told police "that a hacker was remotely entering the servers to intercept monetary transfers."

Garciela Gils Carbo is Argentina's chief prosecutor and the one who ordered the federal police to begin their investigation. The authorities discovered that the same person was stealing money from transfers and online gambling sites. ""Internet users were victims of a 'malware' virus that the hacker hosted in a server for downloading online gaming applications," read a statement from Argentina's Minsitry. Reports say the hacker "carried out a "denial of service" maneuver that used a network of thousands of "zombie" computers to saturate the platform for payments so users could not access their accounts around the time of the attack."
