Ariana Grande just bagged multiple nominations at this year’s Grammys.

The singer is nominated in the album of the year category with “Thank You, Next,” and she’s also nominated in the song of the year category with “7 Rings.” The track is also nominated in the best pop solo performance category.

Grande’s nominations are believed to be much-deserved sweet revenge for the award-winning singer. Last year, she was involved in a major controversy against Grammys producer, Ken Ehrlich. This year’s Grammys show will be Ehrlich’s last.

In 2018, Grande was asked to perform on the Grammys stage, and she decided to perform her then-new track “7 Rings.” However, the producers insisted that her song be part of a medley, and they also said that they will be choosing Grande’s second track.

Grande was obviously displeased with what the producers tried to do at that time that she decided to skip the awards show altogether. She also posted a cryptic tweet expressing her real thoughts about the matter.

“It’s about collaboration. it’s about feeling supported. it’s about art and honesty. not politics. not doing favors or playing games. It’s just a game y’all… and I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, this year’s show is expected to be different from the previous Grammys. It will also be the first awards night under new president and CEO Deborah Dugan. She and the producers are asking Grande to perform and this time around, they are allowing Grande to sing whatever she wants.

If Grande agrees to take the stage, it won’t be her first time performing at the Grammys. In 2014, she sang “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart.” From 2015 to 2019, the singer was nominated in the best pop vocal album category for “Dangerous Woman” and “Sweetener.” Last year, Grande earned her first-ever Grammy award.

On Twitter, Grande even shared a photo of her trophy after it was sent to her by her manager.
