"Arrow" returns tonight with a new episode - Episode 3 of Season 2 of the CW series, one directed by Glen Winter and written by Marc Guggeinheim and Keto Shimizu and entitled "Broken Dolls". According to Comicbook.com, tonight will see Lance (Paul Blackthorne) learn that a criminal he put behind bars years ago named Barton Mathis (Michael Eklund, guest-starring) has broken out of prison and has returned to torturing and murdering women. Tonight's episode will air at 8pm EST on the CW. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to check out a promo video of "Broken Dolls" before it airs.
Of course, Lance along with Arrow (Stephen Arnell) and Diggie (David Ramsey) will go after the villain, but when Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) volunteers herself as the bait, things go wrong. Fugitive Mathis executes a kidnapping of Laurel (Katie Cassidy) in revenge for the baiting scheme, and plans to kill her as Lance looks on. As all this transpires, Thea (Willa Holland) and Oliver are astonished to find out that the district attorney will be seeking the death penalty for Moira, and Oliver will ask Roy to help him in his quest to find the Canary.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Guide that the mystery of the Black Canary's identity will soon be revealed - fans of the comic book might already know that the Canary is Laurel's alter-ego in the DC Universe, which has lead some to ask themselves how the two could be separate people in the show. Kreisberg said that the two people will appear face to face "sooner than people realize. We have a really great story arc for the Black Canary and Laurel that we're super excited for people to jump on board that ride, because it's really just the beginning," he said. "The show is about Green Arrow, but the Oliver that we met in the pilot wasn't anywhere near being the Green Arrow, and still isn't. And the same with Black Canary. So it's really the beginning of the Black Canary story, and she will begin to emerge as the season progresses."
Last week's episode left off with the Arrow surrounded by a SWAT Team after he walked right into a trap set by Laurel. Arnell, who plays the Arrow, gave us a little teaser in a Huffington Post interview recently, when he said that at the beginning of "Broken Dolls", "there is no cut, it's the same scene, and it actually picks up with all the guns on Oliver, and him lowering his bow. That's his only move." Hit the link below for a preview clip, and tune in tonight at 8pm EST to watch the new episode as it airs on the CW.
