Thanksgiving is three weeks away and almost everyone has a reason to look forward to the national holiday. For some it is the large meal, for kids it's the joy of having two days off from school. Others look to Thanksgiving as the day before the biggest sales of the year. Black Friday kicks off the Christmas and other holiday shopping season. Stores go all out offering door-buster and blow-out sales. Products people wait all year to go on sale will be marked down considerably on Black Friday.
Macy's will be getting a jump start on the Black Friday sales opening their doors at 8pm on Thanksgiving night. While some are upset over the fact that Macy's, Best Buy, Walmart and JC Penney are opening up on Thanksgiving, analysts say it is to counter act the effect Thanksgiving has had on online sales. The day before Black Friday, when customers barrel into department stores for the great deals, has become a huge online shopping day. This has been hurting Black Friday sales in recent years. Stores are looking to bounce back.
Macy's is offering a number of items at reduced prices on Black Friday. Everything from clothing to shoes to furniture and appliances are going to be marked down. Moto cop double buckle boots by Kenneth Cole, originally priced at $75.00 will be on sale for $29.99. For the handyman, or handywoman in the house Macy's is offering a Traveler Gear stainless steel multi-tool for $19.99 marked down from its original $60.00 price. The chef in the family will be happy to know they can get a full Martha Stewart cookware set originally priced at $199.99 set for $29.99.
