Earlier this week, Nissan introduced its Juke Nismo sport crossover ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Not to be outdone, German automaker Audi, which will also be competing at Le Mans, has just revealed its latest range-topper for its Q5 crossover model line-up.

The Audi SQ5 TDI features a 3.0 liter biturbo diesel V6 engine producing 313 horsepower with a massive 479 lb.-ft. of torque available from an idling 1,450 and 2,800 rpm.

According to Audi, the new SQ5 TDI will propel from 0-to-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. Flat out, the SQ5 will reach a limited top speed of 155 mph. Thanks to its efficient diesel powerplant and 8-speed Tiptronic transmission, the Audi Quattro is rated at just over 32 mpg.

Complementing its newfound performance, the SQ5 will also feature a sport suspension lowering the crossover by 1.18 inches. A set of 20-inch wheels wearing 255/45 tires come standard while 21-inch wheels are available as optional equipment.

Distinctive exterior touches to the SQ5 include black brake calipers featuring Audi S-line badging, a single frame grille in platinum gray, a roof spoiler, stylized bodykit, finished aluminum side mirrors, and high-gloss paintwork.

Inside, you'll immediately find the passenger cabin featuring S-line badging on the instrument panel, gearshift lever, and door sills. A sportier steering wheel will also replace the wheel from the standard Q5. Adding a touch of luxury, pearl napa leather with Alcantara come standard. Buyers can also choose from any four optional leather colors.

Inside Line says an Audi spokesman has confirmed that the SQ5 will go on sale in Europe early next year. However, the U.S. release date has yet to be determined.
