Becky G is the perfect example to the phrase, “Chiquita pero picosa.” With only 19 years of age, the Mexican-American beauty has managed to add singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, and brand ambassador to her resume, and she is not stopping there.

The California native, born Rebbeca Marie Gomez, recently revealed she would love to be more in touch with her Latina roots, and this involves becoming more fluent in Spanish.

Even though she has already worked with great Latino music stars such as, Thalía and J Balvin, Becky wants to be able to switch that language button on and off like a true bilingual Mexican-American.

“I love Latin music,” the singer said during an interview with TVyNovelas. Adding that she is still having a little trouble communicating in Spanish, but she is working on it in order to be able to conquer the world en español.

Becky G wouldn’t be the first Latino recording artist to go after the Latino market, other American born stars have chosen to crossover, or skip the English part and go straight into Spanish like, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Prince Royce, Pitbull, the late Jenni Rivera and Nicky Jam, to name a few.

Although Becky G admits that’s one of her next goals, it might take a while before she fully commits to this project. The “Becky From The Block” performer is currently focusing on her new gig as the Yellow Ranger in the remake of the 1990s classic, “Power Rangers.”

She is also promoting her new campaign with Degree Women, which will be launched in the upcoming iHeartRadio concert series this summer. “We’re going to be doing an iHeart show together and I’m really excited because we’re finding really cool ways to get the fans involved,” she told US Weekly.
