Belinda has kissed her record label goodbye and is ready to venture off as an independent artist. The Mexican pop singer, who has been in the biz for 15 years, has cut ties with Universal Music ---label which dropped her recent album "Catarsis" (2013).

"I'm free and the idea of being able to do my own stuff my way makes me happy," she said, according to TVNotas. "I'm know that it'll be double the work, but I like challenges and I can achieve it," she added, stating that she will build a stronger team to make her new career move possible. "I will be surrounded by the best team so that it can work. I won't have the pressure of a new single, a release date," she said.

The 26-year-old songstress, who was once also part of the Sony BMG, RCA, Capitol Latin and EMI Televisa Mexico families, said she feels positive with her decision and is 100 percent convinced that she will have everyone's support. "I'll do this how I feel it should be done and at the right time," she said.
