“Big Brother” Season 21 has yet to premiere on CBS, but details on the houseguests and the first round of Head of Household (HOH) competition have already been leaked. Sixteen new houseguests vied for a chance to lead the game on week 1.

According to the “Big Brother Network,” Christie Murphy was crowned as the first HOH for the season. The 28-year-old currently lives in Keyport, New York, but is originally from Staten Island. Christie is a boutique owner who describes herself as outgoing, edgy and an overachiever.

Before she was named as the first HOH, Christie first promised several houseguests that they will be kept safe for at least a week. This way she could be officially named as HOH. After sealing the deal, Christie set her sights on Kathryn Dunn.

Kathryn, 29, is from Irving, Texas, but currently resides in Dallas. She works as a digital marketing executive and has described herself as a reliable, hardworking and fun individual. Kathryn’s hobbies are related to social media and Instagram in particular.

Christie told her houseguests that she doesn’t trust Kathryn because the latter is so paranoid and thinks that everyone is talking about her or is plotting against her. This week’s HOH needs to put up two houseguests for eviction, so it is possible that her second choice will only be on the block as a pawn.

After the two nominees for the week are named, they, together with the HOH and the other houseguests who will be picked via a random draw, will compete in the Power of Veto (POV). Whoever wins will have the opportunity to take themselves off the block or to take whoever is on the block if they wish.

But if the HOH also wins the POV, it is unlikely for Christie to take Kathryn off the block. However, Christie must also remember that winning everything on week 1 could put a huge target on her back. If this happens, it is highly likely that this week’s HOH will be put up on the block next week.

“Big Brother” Season 21 will premiere on CBS on June 25. The two-hour episode will begin at 8 p.m.
