Perry Wright just might be alive, after all. Shailene Woodley seemed to have revealed this spoiler for the “Big Little Lies” Season 2 finale and people are shocked. While the actress did not straightforwardly claim this as fact, the possibility of the antagonist being alive is quite high based on what she said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

In her interview with the funny and enigmatic talk show host, Woodley let slip that Perry’s grave would be featured in the beginning of the finale and his body is “missing.” Considering that HBO is being very strict about spoilers, not allowing Woodley to show any clip from the Season 2 ending for fear about anything being revealed ahead of the episode, the actress certainly made a shocking statement, and with the network’s supposed authority too.

“This whole time they’ve said don’t say anything. So people ask what the show is about and you can’t give anything away,” she told Kimmel. “But they did say I could say this: In the beginning of the next episode, it’s a little bit of a cliffhanger, but all the women go to visit Perry’s grave and his body is missing.”

While avid fans claim Woodley's spoiler may not be a crucial peg to the show and might just be a flashback, the possibility of him being alive and hiding is still there. With “Big Little Lies” Season 2 being the last (until it is decided and announced otherwise), one of the main antagonists of Season 1, played by actor Alexander Skarsgård, being possibly alive is truly major. This could have a lot of implications to the five female protagonists who were witnesses to his death in the first season, including the wife he abused greatly, Celeste, played by Nicole Kidman.

Throughout the second season, there was a lot of exploration shown on Perry’s backstory. Fans were made to understand who Perry was and his dark past, leading to violent tendencies. Would all these build-up to fans finding out that he still gets to live and probably have the chance to turn things around this time? Or is Jane Chapman’s (played by Woodley) rapist and Celeste’s abuser too far gone to be given a second chance at life?

Regardless of the answer, fans will just have to wait until the episode airs. The actor, however, cannot be denied how well he played this role. Even Kidman has the nicest things to say about him playing Perry, claiming he was the most dedicated actor. Skarsgard on his part told The Hollywood Reporter that it was an honor to play the very complex character.
