A man has died on an Aer Lingus flight to Dublin after attacking and biting a fellow passenger who tried to restrain him. According to the AP, the Brazilian man, was flying on an Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon, Portugal, to Dublin, Ireland, when he bit a man sitting near him.

"Sunday night’s Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon, Portugal, to Dublin was diverted to the southwest Irish city of Cork, where paramedics pronounced the man dead on arrival. Passengers said he had bitten a man sitting near him and crew members sought to handcuff him before he lost consciousness. A doctor and nurse on board failed to revive him,"the Associated Press reported.

“The noise he was making was like something that I’d never heard before," a male passenger told Cork’s 96FM radio station, “It was like a deep anguish, that is the best way I can describe it. It was very, very troubled." The police also arrested a woman, who was traveling on the same flight, after two kilograms of what was believed to have been "amphetamine powder" were found in her suitcase, however; it's not clear whether or not the arrest is related to the man's death.

The AP added that the bitten passenger was taken to a nearby hospital and the other 165 passengers and six crew members were taken to Dublin by bus.
