The entertainment world is mourning the loss of actor and comedian Jeff Garcia, best known for voicing Sheen Estevez in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and other popular 2000s animated favorites. Reports confirm that Garcia, 50, died on December 10, 2025, after his lung collapsed, which was the culmination of several serious health complications.
According to sources cited by TMZ, Garcia had suffered a brain aneurysm in the spring, which caused him to fall and injure his head. He reportedly recovered, but in the weeks that followed he experienced a stroke.
Later, on November 20, he was hospitalized with pneumonia. Though discharged after treatment, his health did not fully recover. Early this month, Garcia was admitted again after struggling with breathing problems. On December 9, his lung collapsed; by Tuesday night he was placed on life support. He passed away the next morning, surrounded by family and friends.
His son, comedian Jojo Garcia, confirmed his father's death via Instagram.
With a very heavy heart, I would like to inform everybody that my father, Jeff Garcia, has passed away. My father was a unique soul. He was unapologetically himself and I will always admire the love, compassion, and drive that he had. He taught me so much and gave me advice that I live by every single day. He was a Father, Son, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, but most of all, he was my best friend. I would call him every day. I would tell him about the plans I had in comedy and my life. He believed in me, in a way that nobody else did. The talent my father possessed was truly one of a kind. From voice acting to stand up comedy, he shined with his quick wit, brash humor, and charm. He has made such an impact on people's lives internationally, whether you grew up watching Jimmy Neutron, or shared a laugh with him at one of his shows. He was my hero... I idolized him. He may be gone, but he will NEVER be forgotten. He lives on through our family and friends he loved so dearly, along with the legacy he has created. I know you're in heaven smiling down and you're in a better place now. No more pain. I'm going to make you proud pops. Fly high, Rocket Man. LLJG🕊️👼🏼
A Career That Spanned Comedy Clubs to Children's TV
Garcia began his journey as a stand-up comedian in 1991, performing at comedy clubs across Southern California before transitioning into acting. His breakout came in 2001 when he was cast as the voice of Sheen Estevez in the film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, a role he reprised repeatedly through the film's TV series and the spin-off Planet Sheen.
Garcia's voice wasn't limited to Nickelodeon. Over the years, he contributed to animated films such as Barnyard, Happy Feet, and Rio, leaving an imprint on a broad array of childhood favorites. On top of his animation work, he remained an active stand-up comedian, endearing himself to audiences with his humor and often giving back through charity and support of young Latino comics.
