Hey, I’m up here! The optics of Hillary Clinton’s last public meeting with Christina Aguilera were a little awkward. Los Angeles — Christina Aguilera wants me to come to her house! Oh, it’s another fundraising letter from Hillary Clinton. I already signed her birthday card after Bill and Chelsea pestered me. Funny how they all have the same email address (info@hillaryclinton.com). In the email sent by the HRC campaign, Xtina promises to transport a lucky contestant to a Beverly Hills campaign fundraiser on Nov. 4th. Here is the letter being sent to Hillary supporters.

Friend --

I’m so happy you’re on Team Hillary. That’s why I want to invite you to a party with Hillary at my home in Beverly Hills.

The campaign will pick up your flight and hotel; all you have to do is put your name in the hat for a chance to win.

It’s going to be a great night with some special musical performances -- including one by yours truly -- and best of all, you’ll get a chance to talk with Hillary herself. Maybe you can even help me convince her to sing, or at least dance!

I know Hillary’s going to be an amazing president, and I’m grateful you’re fighting to help get her to the White House. I hope I get to thank you in person. Add your name now for your chance to meet Hillary at my house.

Here are a few notes on eligibility from the fine print.

  • Signups must happen today or tomorrow.

  • Only applies to those who live in the U.S. (including territories like Puerto Rico). Sorry, Brazilian celeb bloggers.

  • It is free. Although it might appear that you have to donate money to the campaign to be entered to win, the fine print shows that you can enter for free (look at the bottom of the page)

Meeting Hillary Clinton and talking to her is a rare opportunity even for journalists (just ask Maria Hinojosa), so I sign up for every one of these event raffles (I’m also on the email list of a dozen other presidential candidates), even if I’m not looking for a trip to Beverly Hills (two miles from my house).

Some of you might be asking “Why is Christina Aguilera emailing me about Hillary Clinton?” Oh look, some of you definitely are.

Email, because it’s fundraising. If California is the ATM of American politics, than the Democratic pin code is 310. Christina Aguilera, because she is one of the many young and popular celebrities that have endorsed Clinton on the campaign trail. Lesser-known endorsers of HRC include filmmaker Rob Reiner, who will host another fundraiser for Clinton the following day, also in Los Angeles.

Apparently there is an Xtina/Clinton overlap in fan base.
