It’s official— The Conjuring franchise has titled their third installment as “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”. Slated to release in September 2020 as announced by Warner Bros on Sunday; the movie promises to just be what you’ve imagined—although a tad scarier. The plotline revolves around a spine-chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that put seasoned paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren at a loss for words.

The cast sees Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren back as the protagonists, while Sterling Jerins, Charlene Amoia, Sarah Catherine Hook and Ruairi O'Connor essay significant supporting roles.

The movie is directed by Michael Chaves, while Wan steps aside as just the producer for this installment. Netizens went into a tizzy as soon as the new title of the motion picture was shared. This comes as a first because the previous promotional materials did not feature the new title of the film.

Speculations ran amok just as soon as the announcement broke, so did the burning question— what’s to expect from this installment?

“The process was fantastic, and it’s a much different feel,” said Patrick Wilson. “It’s still the same bones; it’s still very much Ed and Lorraine,” he added. Implying that things are expected to get scarier, Wilson hinted at the characters were pushed to unlikely predicaments— and involved tackling ‘a different beast’.

Despite themed around a very negative plotline, the actor reiterated that it always felt like a homecoming of sorts with every sequel. Implying how the rapport shared by the crew had made all the difference to the filming experience, the actor got a little emotional while describing the entire shoot.

“Because of the spinoffs, when you come back to the flagship movies, I want to feel like, ‘OK, now we’re back in the Conjuring world,’” he said. “There’s a different weight to those movies just in scope alone, budget, time to shoot it and all that stuff. It’s got great producers, and honestly, a super happy and supportive studio,” he added.

The Conjuring’s forthcoming installment comes after the uber-successful run of its previous hits, “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2”.
