Manchester United iconic striker Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly did not travel to Bangkok on Friday to participate in their pre-season tour.

The 37-year-old footballer did not fly with the squad to Bangkok for the team's first leg of the tour. He was supposed to be back at Carrington on Monday, but the United's top goalscorer has been given extended time off to deal with "family issues." Man Utd are believed to be planning for the rest of their pre-season tour without the Portuguese star player; the team's remaining tour will be in Australia.

United will play against Liverpool in Thailand on Tuesday, and then the Red Devils will head to Australia for games against Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. They are set to return to Manchester on July 25. According to ESPN, there is no specific timeframe on where Ronaldo will rejoin the squad.

Ronaldo previously confirmed his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer. However, United have firmly revealed their stance that Ronaldo is not for sale. Ronaldo has another year in his contract with the club. Still, he reportedly plans to leave after just a year of playing at United to join a club that can offer Champions League football.

Ronaldo made a dramatic comeback to United from Juventus last summer, scoring 24 goals in all competitions last season. However, the team landed a sixth-place finish in the Premier League and failed to qualify for the Champions League. Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Napoli are said to be among the clubs interested in signing with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Meanwhile, Cristian Eriksen is set to join up on tour with United. Erik ten Hag's side is confident of completing his signing. Free-agent Eriksen has reportedly agreed on a three-year deal with United and is undergoing a stringent medical before the transfer can be officially confirmed.

The midfielder had a cardiac arrest playing for Denmark at Euro 2020. United were obliged to put Eriksen through a more rigorous medical than regular players. United hope Eriksen can join the team for the Melbourne leg of the tour. He would become Erik ten Hag's second signing once the contract is sealed.
