It appears that The CW’s upcoming TV series “Glamorous” is finally taking off with the recent announcement of some of the entertainment industry’s involvement in the project. The network confirmed that Brooke Shields and Jade Payton will be joining the pilot’s cast, while Eva Longoria will likewise be involved behind the camera.

The CW confirmed that Longoria will be directing the pilot episode of “Glamorous,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Before trying her hand in directing, the Hispanic actress is known for her roles in various hit TV series, such as her portrayal of “The Young And The Restless” character Isabella Braña and as Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate Housewives.”

While fans primarily know Longoria for her superb acting, she is likewise an experienced director and producer. Her directing credits include the “Sprinkles” episode in “Devious Maids,” the “Chapter Forty-Seven” episode in “Jane The Virgin,” the “The Hurricane” in “Telenovela,” among others.

Meanwhile, Shields will portray the role of Madolyn, a former supermodel who founded and heads one of the most sophisticated and respected cosmetic firms in the series, according to Variety. The CW likewise teased that as a shrewd businesswoman, she will stop at nothing to stay on top, which includes hiring a new employee to serve as her spy within the organization.

Shields started acting quite earlier that most of her peers and her first role happened when she was just 11 years old. With a career that spans decades, she bagged numerous roles in both television and the big screen. Among her most notable films are “Blue Lagoon,” “Endless Love” and “Pretty Baby.”

Meanwhile, actress Jade Payton will play the role of Venetia, Madolyn’s trusted assistant, according to Deadline. The CW also revealed a few details about the character by saying that she will be quite active in Chicago’s nightlife and queer community. Fans will probably recognize Payton for her recurring role in the hit series “iZombie.”
