David Maine, a 24-year-old Virginia man has been accused of the murder of four people who were his housemates. The unfortunate victims consist of a newly married couple along with their teenage daughter. The man was arrested on Tuesday, Oct 18 on murder and weapons charges in the killings of the four individuals, said reports.

“All four decedents and the suspect were residents of the home and known to one another. Three of the deceased are family members, while the fourth was a tenant who resided in the basement,” police said.

Maine now faces four counts of murder and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony originating from the quadruple homicide that took place in the Washington DC suburb of Woodbridge on Monday.

Officers with the Prince Williams County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 5200 block of Mansfield Ct. at around 4:30 p.m.

The doors were unlocked when the police arrived at the residence. After entering inside they discovered four dead bodies in different parts of the home.

Three of the victims were family members who were identified Tuesday as Miguel Flores, 44, his wife, Kelly Sotelo, 42, and their daughter, 19-year-old Karrie Sotelo.

36-year-old Richard Revollar Corrales was the fourth victim. He was a tenant renting the basement at the home

Maine also lived at the home and knew all the victims, said authorities.

Police said “The investigation revealed an altercation occurred inside the home. After the incident, the suspect left the residence and called 9-1-1 to report that someone had shot into the residence.”

“Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect a short distance from the home where he was detained without incident,” they added.

Three of the victims were shot while the death of the fourth remains unsettled, said authorities. A gun was recovered at the scene.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Prince William County Police Chief Peter Newsham called the killings “horrific.”

“Every adjective that you can use to describe a tragedy, you could use to describe what happened here last night,” he added.
