Gabriela Castrejón Michel, the Mexican actress and respected voice-over performer known for her work in film and television dubbing, has reportedly died in Mexico City. Better known to Latino audiences as the mother of Eugenio Derbez's eldest daughter, Aislinn Derbez, Michel had a very prolific career and was known as the voice in Spanish of Samantha Jones in HBO hit Sex and the City.

The news of her passing began circulating Monday, November 24, after several Mexican entertainment outlets published reports citing unnamed sources. As of now, no member of the Castrejón or Derbez families or an official representative has issued a public confirmation, and the details surrounding her alleged death remain unverified.

The Mexican Association of Interpreters confirmed the news on its Instagram account.

The first mention of Michel's death originated on social media via influencer and entertainment insider Chamonic, whose post initiated a wave of headlines and online reactions. Some outlets have referenced an alleged accident inside her home as a possible cause, although no formal report, police statement or family acknowledgment has confirmed that information.

Michel was 65 and leaves behind a legacy deeply tied to the Latin American dubbing world. With a career spanning decades, she became one of the industry's recognizable voices, especially in the adaptation of English-language productions for Spanish-speaking audiences. Michel lent her voice to characters in films such as Bedtime Stories, The Santa Clause 2, The Santa Clause 3, Ice Princess, Haunted Mansion, The Country Bears and The Parent Trap. She also appeared in animated and live-action television dubbing that reached households throughout Latin America.

Her television dubbing work includes roles in the Latin American versions of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Hannah Montana and Devious Maids. She also contributed to children's programming and animated titles including Princesita Sofía, Jakers! Las aventuras de Piggley Winks, Saber Marionette J to X, Las aventuras de las Mini Diosas and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Industry records also list her as one of the voices associated with actress Kim Cattrall in Spanish-language adaptations, including appearances tied to the character Samantha Jones from Sex and the City.

Gabriela Michel was born October 24 in Mexico City and grew up with a passion for performance. She studied acting and dance early in her career and later helped establish an acting and dance academy alongside actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez, with whom she had her first daughter, actress Aislinn Derbez. The school ultimately closed after their separation, and Michel continued building her dubbing and acting career.

Years later, she married television narrator and presenter Jorge Alberto Aguilera. Together they welcomed two more daughters, Michelle and Chiara Aguilera. Unlike Aislinn, the younger sisters have largely maintained private lives outside public entertainment circles.

Throughout her life, Michel was known more for her work than for high-profile appearances. She maintained a mostly private lifestyle and rarely gave interviews, although her relationship with her eldest daughter brought renewed attention in recent years. In previous interviews, Aislinn referred to her mother as a source of emotional support and artistic encouragement during her childhood and early professional life.

Since news of her reported death surfaced, messages from fans and members of Mexico's dubbing and entertainment community have begun circulating online. Some posts express grief and gratitude for her contributions to the industry, while others emphasize caution and request official confirmation before statements are treated as fact.

At this time, neither Aislinn Derbez nor other relatives have issued a public response. The lack of comment has kept the report in a developing state, with many outlet
