North Yankton GTA 5
North Yankton rumored in upcoming GTA 5 DLC. Rockstar Games

Last month, Rockstar Games announced that the "GTA 5" PC release date will be delayed until March 24. During the statement, Rockstar could only deliver a vague acknowledgement that the highly anticipated "GTA 5" Heists Update will arrive in the weeks ahead.

"GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC and will include GTA Online Heists. Online Heists for consoles will be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch."

Unfortunately, we are nearing mid-February but we are no closer to reporting an official GTA 5 Heists DLC release date. That said, new Heists details continue to trickle in during the days, weeks, or month ahead of the DLC update's arrival.

In our previous posts, we mentioned that a total of seven new cars are expected to arrive in the Heist DLC, including the Lampadati Casco, Dinka Endura, Vapid Guardian, HVY Insurgent, Karin Kuruma, Karin Technical, and Principe Lectro. In addition, we also shared a leak regarding the location and details of a new luxury yacht mission from the upcoming "GTA 5" Heists Update. Since our last report, "GTA 5 tipster" and YouTuber DomisLive also suggested that the new Heist could potentially introduce mounted mini-guns for pickup trucks. We've yet to confirm the accuracy of this information, but we would be lying if we said we weren't interested.

Now, DomisLive has reported new "GTA 5" Heists DLC information that has been acquired from leaked source codes. In our opinion, this is the biggest source Heists Update source code leak to date. The latest details suggest an exciting new mission that will take place in the North Yankton area, which will be completely brand new to GTA Online multiplayer. In addition, the source codes also reveal incredible new elements including avalanche, tsunami, and more.

First, a source code that reads "SET_TSUNAMI_ENV" reveals that a tsunami effect can trigger at a specific area on the map during a Heist mission. Next, a similar source code reads "SET_AVALANCHE_ENV," which will create an avalanche in a specific area on the map during a Heist mission. However, according to the leaker, the two environmental effects will only be available on current PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Somehow, DomisLive has managed to decipher the description of the source code and realize what the latest "GTA 5" Heists DLC is really up to: "So that's going to be amazing. That's telling us right away that there is going to be some form of North Yankton DLC that will be coming to GTA 5."

An avalanche is associated with the crumbling of snowy mountain caps and that is definitely the sort of environment you will find in the colder climates of North Yankton. However, we're still trying to figure out whether the North Yankton map will be available strictly in the Heist mission or whether a free-roam option will be available as well.

Other new environmental elements we can expect from future "GTA 5" updates include the Bahama Mama nightclub, thanks to a leaked "IS_BAHAMA_INTERACTIVE_RENDERING" source code. According to the source code description, the interior of the nightclub will be available in freeroam once the Heists DLC has arrived. However, we cannot confirm whether this means that the Bahama nightclub will be available as a part of the latest Heists update, or if it means that Rockstar will not consider delivering Bahama Mama to the players at least until the Heists DLC arrives first.

Additional environmental elements include "HEIST12_RENDER_BURNING." As the code's description indicates, the element is triggered when "a certain building in a Heist mission is set on fire and has a blazing effect." While "GTA 5" already delivers stunning graphics with current-gen the PS4 and Xbox One, it is very exciting to know that Rockstar isn't shy to push the envelope of current-gen graphical rendering.
