HBO GO will finally be coming to Sony’s PlayStation devices. The official release date has not been announced, Sony’s vice president of business development, Phil Rosenberg has promised the HBO GO app will be available for download very soon. "With the HBO GO app on your PlayStation system and an HBO subscription via your cable or satellite provider, you'll have unlimited, on-demand access to your favorite HBO shows," Rosenberg said. While the official PlayStation Twitter account teased the same news saying, “PS3 getting its very own @HBOGO app, with a PS4 app to follow: http://bit.ly/1gSzW0Q Time to catch up on Game of Thrones!”

Along with full episodes of your favorite shows like “Game of Thornes,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “Girls” the app offers movies, sports, comedy specials and documentaries as well as behind-the-scenes extras. With HBO GO customers also have way more on-demand content than available through most cable providers. Where as some cable providers give you access to a couple of seasons of a show, HBO GO lets you watch every season and episode of that said show.

HBO GO first launched back in February 2010. The app is available on almost all multimedia devices such as the Xbox 360, iOS and Android devices, Apple TV, Chromecast, Kindle Fire, Roku and Samsung Smart TV’s. Gaining access to HBO GO is quite simple. You just need to be subscribed to HBO through your cable provider and logging in is a breeze after that. Also FX network announced this week they will be launching its FXNOW service, which provides cable subscribers with access to FX shows online. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network's offerings will include all 530 episodes of “The Simpsons,” beginning in August. As of now, FXNOW works for those with AT&T U-verse, Comcast Xfinity, Midcontinent Communications, Optimum, Suddenlink, and WOW with more cable providers to come.
