"Homeland" returns tonight and there are a lot of new things changing in Season 3. The season premiere is entitled "Tin Man is Down" which is giving me so many ideas of what the episode could actually be about, a CIA operation gone wrong? Brody getting shot? Or a literally a tin man just fell down? Anything is possible in "Homeland!" And before we tune in to tonight's episode, we have a few major moments to look forward to.
When we return to Season 3, two months have passed, but the explosion at Langley is still a huge deal, obviously. The US government seems to be taking an eerily long time to perform the necessary repairs to the CIA headquarters. Due to the nature of the attack on Langley, it is now up to Saul to build back up the CIA's damaged reputation. And within the stress of the attack, Carrie and Saul's relationship has crumbled. In previous seasons, we have watched as Carrie and Saul function under a mentor/mentee relationship. But things have changed and not for the better. Saul is no longer protecting Carrie and seems to be on a destructive path of his own.
And while Saul is on a destructive path, Carrie is up to her old ways. Carrie is off of her medication at the beginning of Season 3, and now she is self medicating. Instead of regulating her disorder, she is drinking and enjoying too much sex with too many men. Carrie isn't the only one having a hard time coping with life; Dana has been struggling the past two months. She suffered sincere heartbreak after her ex-boyfriend Finn Walden died in the attack on Langley; she also had to come to gripes with the fact that her own father is in fact a terrorist.
Speaking of Brody! He will sneak in to tonight's premiere, but only briefly. The audience will catch a glimpse of Brody, but we wont really catch back up with him until the third episode of Season 3. Be sure to watch the Season 3 premiere tonight on Showtime at 9 p.m.!
