How Brad Pitt Managed To Remain Friends With Jennifer Aniston Even After Divorce

Early this year, rumors of Brad Pitt rekindling his romance with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston started to swirl around. While both parties claim that there is nothing going on and that they’re just friends, a source close to the former couple revealed that Brad Pitt actually had one regret about how he split from his ex-wife.

A source told Us Weekly that while the actor does not like to dwell in the past, Pitt “of course wishes he'd handled the end of their marriage in a more thoughtful manner.” The actor started dating Angelina Jolie while he was still married to Aniston.

The couple’s split affected the actress greatly that she went through a period of “grieving.” According to the actress, it even felt like “Brad had died.”

As evidenced by Pitt’s presence at Aniston’s birthday party early this year, the exes have surprisingly managed to remain friends even to this day. The reason for that is because the actor was brave enough to ask for forgiveness from his ex-wife.

“He asked for Jen's forgiveness a long time ago,” Us Weekly’s source revealed. “And she gave it.”

The former couple has actually been in contact intermittently even before Pitt attended Aniston’s party. For instance, Pitt contacted Aniston when the latter’s mom died in 2016.

“Brad contacted Jen after her mom died, and she was touched that he knew what a difficult time it was,” the insider said. “They have each other’s cell phone number and communicate from time to time. This is nothing new. Jen and [Brad] have remained friendly.”

Rumors that the two might be dating once more started after Pitt was spotted in Aniston’s party in February. “Brad gave Jen a card and a hug,” a guest who attended the party narrated. “Brad seemed very hesitant [at first] — all eyes were on him. [...] He came to support her, spoke to other friends of his that were there and headed out.”

However, both parties insist that they are just friends, which, coming from Aniston’s mouth, is not hard to believe at all. The actress has this awesome ability of being able to remain friends with her exes.

For instance, she is also friends with her other ex-husband, Justin Theroux. In fact, Theroux posted a very sweet and heartwarming message on social media for Aniston’s birthday.

“Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman. Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind. ....and fiercely funny. ❤ ️ you B,” Theroux wrote on Instagram.

Aniston also has a very healthy view of her marriages to both Pitt and Theroux as she does not consider them as failures. “My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion,” she told ELLE. “And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn’t exist within that arrangement anymore.”
