Rumor has it that both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are pregnant, but neither of the two royal women has confirmed the reports. Despite their silence on the issue, a body language expert revealed how Kate and Meghan’s body languages when they’re pregnant differ so royal followers will know if they’re indeed pregnant.

According to body language expert Judi James, the differences in Kate’s and Meghan’s pregnant body languages have everything to do with their ages. At 36, Kate already has three children, while at 37, Meghan has only one. James said that while the two duchesses are essentially of the same age, Kate’s pregnant behavior is more relaxed than Meghan because she’s more experienced in childbearing.

James noted that unlike Kate, Meghan has more tendency to hold her baby bump than Kate, and she’s less calm during public outings. “Meghan’s bump-cradling also suggests she will be an openly doting and enthusiastic mother,” said James. “Meghan becomes a first-time mother at an age when Kate has just given birth to her third child and the excitement in her facial expression compared to Kate’s calmer happiness signals reflects that,” she added.

Another significant difference in Kate and Meghan’s pregnant body languages is that Kate is more formal. James noted that Kate’s more formal pregnant behavior mirrors her traditional values as a royal. She said that Meghan’s public declaration of her delight and pride at being a mother to be, just as she did when she was still pregnant with Archie Harrison, was indicative of her nontraditional royal values.

“Kate’s response to her bump is confident, practical and very much ‘business as usual,’” said James. Meghan, on the other hand, is the type who seems to want to show everyone that she’s pregnant. “Meghan has been a bump-toucher and every fiber of her body language, from the bump-covering hands to the knowing, excited smile, lets us know she’s pregnant and wanting everyone else to know too,” she said.

James also explained that while Meghan is happier and more comfortable with public sharing and having that tactile and eloquent behavior when pregnant, Kate seems to be more used to keeping a formal distance, like a traditional royal.

It remains unknown if pregnancy rumors about Kate and Meghan are true, but how James shed light on their pregnant body languages can make one easily tell. Yesterday, Meghan sparked pregnancy rumors anew after wearing an old maternity dress while on her South African tour with Prince Harry.
