Prince William seemingly made fun of Kate Middleton while in Pakistan for their overseas tour. And the Duchess of Cambridge, who may or may not have been offended, managed to maintain her composure.

On Tuesday, the royal couple visited a school in the country, and they had a chat with the students while inside the science room. Upon entering the room, the mom of three asked her husband if they were in the science classroom before saying that some of the girls that she spoke with told her that their favorite subject is science.

At this point, the Duke of Cambridge asked Kate if she still remembers the Periodic Table. Before Kate could answer, Prince William said that he knew the Periodic Table quite well when he was still a student. And then he sarcastically said that his wife also knows it quite well.

The Duke of Cambridge’s statements seem to suggest that Kate is not good at science. But this doesn’t mean that she’s a bad student at all. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge was good in math, the arts and English. Kate also got a 2:1 in her degree at the University of St. Andrews.

And beyond her grades in school, Kate also seems to be smart in real life. Since joining the royal family, she has managed to win the hearts of the public without having to exert much effort.

Prince William, on the other hand, is also quite smart. He received three A-levels in Geography, History of Art, and Biology from the University of St. Andrews.

After his graduation, Prince Charles proudly gushed over his eldest son. “I know how hard William worked to achieve these excellent results and I am very proud that he has done so well,” he told The Guardian.

Prince Charles was also quite smart. The heir to the throne got two A-levels in History and French. He graduated with a 2:2 degree in History from Cambridge University.

The grades of these royals aren’t that surprising because Queen Elizabeth II was a good student herself. “Unlike her father, the Queen was and is very bright and had an appetite for learning as well as a razor-sharp memory,” Kate Williams told Good Housekeeping. The Queen’s father, on the other hand, disliked school.
