WeiPhone's website reports that Apple will be making a significant change to the new display of the iPhone 5S.

It is reported that the company will add twice as many pixels to the new 5S model than the previous model phone had. The device will also reportedly have a narrower bezel, although the site doesn't make it clear how exactly that will be achieved.

iPhone 5: Cost Of Repairs For Latest Model Higher Than Older Ones; Why?

"According to sources, iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6) or to have a more narrow screen frame, is now preparing, will ship in September. In addition, the product also has a screen 1.5 million pixels, compared to nearly 730,000 iPhone 5 the number of pixels, if not the screen size continues to increase, the resolution will be greatly improved."

Doubling the pixels of the iPhone could have major drawbacks and the site doesn't give any examples of how Apple is planning on achieving this feat.

Also Apple just underwent a resolution change last year with the iPhone 5 and fifth-generation iPod touch. The shift required app developers to tweak their apps to support the taller display, a burden that Apple would surely prefer not to repeat just a year later.

The new claim also contradicts the latest rumors by numerous tech blogs that the new iPhone will tote the same Retina display as the previous model. The narrower bezel design claimed by Weiphone also conflicts with the rumors surrounding the new phone and also with Apple's design aesthetic.

Apple's existing pattern of maintaining a body design for two generations before making significant changes is like their trademark. Rumors have so far indicated that Apple will be continuing that pattern this year with an iPhone 5S focused on internal upgrades.

It is unclear if this rumor is true or not. If we are to follow the trend then this rumor is totally false but if Apple wants to make a huge splash then a design update along with an internal update for the iPhone is not that far off.
