Kate Del Castillo is leaving her badass, powerful roles in "Reina del Sur" and "Dueños del Paraisos" behind and venturing to comedy! You see, the Mexican actress is the new star confirmed to join the "Jane The Virgin" cast in its second season.

Jamie Camil, who plays the sassy Rogelio de la Vega on the show, revealed the big news via social media. "Welcome to #JaneTheVirgin," he expressed with a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the telenovela superstar. The 42-year-old actress shared her excitement as well, admitting that her first day of recording was "too much fun." "Gracias querido @jaimecamil y gracias por tanta risa! And thank you amigo for making my first day so easy and fun! Thank you @cwjanethevirgin," she wrote on Instagram.

We're not sure how many episodes Kate will star in or what her character is all about. But we do know that we're just as stoked as she is for jumping on the bandwagon! Other artists confirmed to make a guest appearance on season two areKesha and Britney Spears.

"Jane the Virgin" will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on October 12 via the CW Network.
