A fan of Chivas Guadalajara has created a world-wide movement after his emotional letter to Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez went viral on Monday.

Omar Eduardo Gutierrez Garcia, a Guadalajara resident and rabid Chivas supporter, wrote a letter to Chicharito, informing him that his brother "Shalo," was his biggest fan, and was recently kidnapped and murdered in the streets of their town.

He asked Chicharito for anything he could do in order to honor his brother's memory, a goal, a twitter mention, or any other recognition that might inspire the Bayer Leverkusen striker.

The letter was posted on Twitter and quickly went viral with the hashtag #AGoalForShalo quickly rising up the ranks of mentions. Chicharito has yet to respond, but with his pension for goal scoring lately, one dedicated to Shalo certainly seems within the realm of possibility.

Unfortunately, the team is off until January 23rd 2016 when they take on TSG Hoffenheim. It's anyone's guess as to whether or not Chicharito will respond via social media or not by then, but we certainly hope he does.

In the meantime, we have taken the liberty of translating the letter from Spanish to English for you below. The original tweet and letter in Spanish can be found at the bottom of the article

Here's the translated letter:

Hello Javier,

With a heart full of sorrow and hoping that this letter will reach you, I write this to you. I want to tell you a story that happened to me many years ago. You were still a young player awaiting promotion to the regular Chivas team (my team and all of my family's team) with only one match played and one goal scored. I went to an autograph signing inside a Chivas store in Avenida Patria. I'm not going to lie to you, my youngest brother and I were hoping to see our all time favorite players and to be fair we were somewhat disappointed when we found out that inside the store the only two players were Zully Ledezma Jr. and you. I had hoped to see more players, but nevertheless, I asked for your autograph. When I got home, my oldest brother, Gonzalo, came up to me and asked how the autograph session had gone, since he hadn't been able to attend. I told him that "Chicharito" was the only one there and to my surprise he was thrilled. He was sure that one you would become an outstanding player, or as we say it in Mexico, "un crack." I granted him your autograph after realizing how meaningful it was to him. Soon enough my brother became your unconditional fan. In every football team he played, his shirt number would always be 14. He would stand up for you and defend you against any type of criticism, even during those times when many had lost their faith in you. We would play FIFA and he would always choose the team with "el Chich" and oh man! How many goals you used to score.

You might be wondering why I am telling you all of this. Well, this beloved brother of mine was kidnapped this past Tuesday a few blocks away from our home when he was coming back from work. After more than one day full of uncertainity and plenty of threatening calls the police found my brother's body lying on the street, completely mistreated and abandoned.

There are not enough words to express my sorrow and that of my family right now. We cannot believe that someone as noble as my brother had such a tragic end; we find it hard to believe he had just graduated college this past Saturday. A man with a mentality similar to yours, who always managed to accomplish everything that he set his mind to by overcoming any barriers, a man who had always looked up to you and whose inspiration you had become.

I turn to you hoping to give him one last goodbye gift. I desire to give him something from his greatest inspiration. If you could just dedicate him a scored goal during a match, some words, a twitter mention, or any other type of recognition that would give my family and I encouragement and would be greatly appreciated. Besides, as a public and influential figure in our society, it would be helpful if you could call up on authorities so these types of situations do not happen again in our beloved city of Guadalajara.

I hope this letter reaches you so I can get a reply from you.

With great love and admiration
Omar Eduardo Gutirrez Garcia

To my dearest brother Jose Gonzalo Gutirrez Garcia "Shalo."
