After Alicia Machado announced in 2013 that she will portray Jenni Rivera in the forthcoming biopic and was even looking forward to adding some extra pounds for the role, it's been revealed that she will not participate in the movie.
Rosie Rivera, sister of the late Mexican-American singer, confirmed the news to People en Español. "There's no one specifically in the moment," she told the publication. "We'll be holding auditions."
Recently, the former Miss Universe talked about the challenging movie role during a press conference in Mexico. “I was auditioning to play Jenni Rivera in the movie that will be produced eventually. Pretty well, supposedly it’s a yes. Right now they are dealing with copyright and such but…fingers crossed,” the Venezuelan beauty queen stated. However, it's been also rumored that "La Diva de la Banda's" own daughter, Chiquis, has been eyeing the leading film role.
