Jennifer Aniston After Brad Pitt Split: The Hardest Thing To Accept About Angelina Jolie

Jennifer Aniston took everyone by surprise when she confirmed her split with Brad Pitt in 2005. Months later, she graced an interview and admitted that she was still picking up the pieces, primarily because of Angelina Jolie and the nasty rumors surrounding their marriage and eventual split.

Although it was hard for Aniston to end their marriage, her friends revealed that she managed to remain strong — until Jolie became pregnant and the media started to claim that Aniston’s alleged unwillingness to have children was the reason Pitt left her for Jolie.

According to Vanity Fair’s Leslie Bennetts, Aniston tried to pick up the pieces in the midst of the media circus, which started when Jolie confirmed her pregnancy with Pitt’s child.

“I think she finally felt it was time to say her piece,” said Bennetts. “I think possibly the most hurtful and infuriating for Jennifer was the report that she wouldn’t have Brad’s child and that’s why their marriage ended,” she added.

News about Jolie’s pregnancy came out in 2005, just a few months after Pitt and Aniston called it quits. During their five years of marriage, Pitt and Aniston didn’t have a child, so it was reportedly very upsetting for Aniston to learn that Jolie got pregnant within just months after their split announcement.

In her postdivorce interview, Aniston refuted claims that she never wanted to have children with Pitt. “I’ve never in my life said I didn’t want to have children,” she said. “I did and I do and I will! I would never give up that experience for a career. I want to have it all,” she added.

Aniston went on to reveal that she and Pitt had agreed to have a child after “Friends” in January 2004, but Pitt was no longer there for her that time. She said that Pitt didn’t even show up for their final taping for the sitcom.

Although Pitt insisted that Jolie wasn’t the reason for their split, Aniston was convinced that he started to become attracted to Jolie while they were still filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

A friend of Aniston said in a separate interview that the hardest thing for the “Friends” star to bear was the fact that it was so quick for Pitt and Jolie to have a child when she and Pitt didn’t even have one during their five years of marriage.

“My worst fear is that Jen will have to face them having a baby together soon, because that would be beyond painful,” Aniston’s friend said.
